The Opportunity:

Join Cardno’s Infrastructure Division team in Clearwater, Florida to play an integral role on our Site (Land) Development/Civil Engineering Team as a Senior Project Manager in charge of fee proposal creation, interfacing with clients, managing jr. staff, review and approvals of design calculation, invoicing and progress reports, and construction oversight.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Solicit and acquire new projects / clients by preparing proposals, marketing new business sectors and meeting with clients
  • Assist with the preparation and execution of Practice Group, Area and Business Unit business development plans to ensure sales goals are achieved
  • Hiring and mentoring of their team, as needed
  • Responsible for directing, scheduling, training and disciplining all associates assigned by the Service Group Leader
  • Ultimately responsible for the success of the project
  • Directly responsible for preparation of all project documents, completing projects on schedule, and submittal of project documents
  • Prepares work plans, assembles project team, delegates tasks and ensures compliance with scope and timely completion of tasks
  • Reviews and approves design calculations submittals, specifications and other submittals
  • Directly responsible for jurisdictional coordination and coordination with other in-house disciplines
  • Directly responsible for all construction administration associated with their projects, as applicable
  • Conducting/attending weekly team meetings
  • Preparing/updating weekly schedules and backlog reports
  • Client Relationship management
  • Purchasing project and production related materials
  • Reviews invoices and prepares/reviews progress reports to client, including approval of sub-consultant invoices
  • Conduct employee reviews for their team

Qualifications:

  • Registered Professional Engineer in state of employment or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire, or equivalent experience in Site Development with minimum 10 years’ experience
  • Must have experience in the Commercial, Municipal, Federal and Residential marketplace for related responsibilities of Civil Engineering project management
  • Capable of soliciting clients and projects to keep team billable
  • Proven track record of sales success and client relationship development
  • Knowledge of surface drainage systems and Modeling Software (i.e. Excel, StormCad, ICPR, Ponds, HecRas, Haestaed, or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of AutoCAD, Civil 3D
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word & Excel
  • Proficient with Microsoft Project
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Four-year Civil Engineering degree or equivalent
  • Extensive (10 or more years) experience/knowledge of construction, design, cost control and management required
