Stewart Title Guaranty Company  in Tampa is looking for a Closing Settlement Specialist.

$15 an hour – Part-time (Seeking current or part time students for part time employment)

  • Maintain and support the daily activities of the closing department in conjunction with the local office, as assigned by supervisor.
  • Proactively review the daily closing calendar with supervisors at least one day in advance of the closing in preparation for providing closing support, as required.
  • Complete any assigned closing or settlement functions within the required TAT in an effort to meet local office and customer expectations.
  • Review all closing/settlement and escrow related job aids to gain expertise in understanding the process flow, directions for entering information or data into Resware (operating system), and seek out additional training or guidance as required.
  • Ensure that when preparing the Closing Disclosure or Settlement Statement that the entries are accurate, all fees confirmed and the document is free of errors.
  • Follow the Lenders Closing instructions for preparation of the CD and settlement statement and work closely with the supervisor if there are questions or entries that require clarification.
  • If the closing or settlement functions within a state require licensing work with the Center Director to attain licensing as required.
  • Complete settlement statement and CD revisions within TAT expectations while presenting error free documents to the local office for delivery to the customer.
  • Ensure that the CD and Settlement Statement have been approved by the lender and an image of the approved documents are uploaded in Resware and labeled as such.
  • Document all communications related to closing/settlement within the transaction notes in Resware with strict adherence to maintaining communication or instructions related to CD revisions or re-disclosures if provided to Stewart by the lender.
  • Review Stewart guidelines related to TRID document retention as outlined in “CFPB Proper Use of TRID Audit Placeholders in SureClose”. Follow the guidelines for direction on the list of forms and documents required to be contained within the file as evidence of compliance.
  • Assist the team in handling escalations as assigned by supervisors.
  • Promote teamwork with and increased focus on providing excellent customer service.

  • Licensed escrow officer if required by state.

Experience and Education

  • High school graduate with some college (bonus).
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in closing and settlement in a high-volume multi-state environment – preferably with a background as an escrow assistant, processor or closer.
