The paralegal/legal assistant will provide substantive legal support to the attorney(s) by drafting and analyzing legal pleadings, documents and correspondence; case management; coordinating and managing litigation, document production and discovery responses; and assisting attorney(s) with deposition and trial preparation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Provide assistance prior to and during arbitration proceedings and court proceedings
· Assist with logistics for depositions and trial
· Organize depositions and trial binders
· Assist with new client intake
· Ensure that related case documents are timely ordered and available
· Monitor the activities and deadlines of case files, advise attorney of same perform tasks necessary to ensure deadlines are met
· Prepare pleadings and discovery responses for attorney review
· Assist with litigation matters, to include review and analysis of discovery
· Conduct light legal research and analysis for attorney review
· Prepare memoranda and briefs for attorney review
· Coordinate and schedule appointments and meetings
· Coordinate billing for specific cases
EDUCATION
· Associate degree plus 2 years of experience in consumer and/or commercial litigation; or
· Minimum of 3-5 years of paralegal experience in consumer and/or commercial litigation; or
· Certification from NALA or NFPA plus 2 years of experience in consumer and/or commercial litigation
