We have partnered with a national law firm with a proven reputation for providing progressive, industry-leading legal, business, regulatory and government relations advice to our regional, national and international clients.
We are currently searching for a Real Estate Paralegal for our Downtown Tampa office. This individual will support members of the Firm’s Real Estate Practice Group of the FIBRE Section and will be responsible for the organization and management of real estate transactions from inception to closing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Collaborate with attorneys in the representation of purchasers/ borrowers, sellers, developers and other clients with real estate matters handled by the firm’s attorneys.
· Order title searches and commitments, review and provide analysis of same.
· Interface with the title company on commitments and policies.
· Order surveys, review and provide analysis of same.
· Interface with the surveyor on draft and final surveys.
· Coordinate closing, with the title company including satisfaction of the closing requirements.
· Document preparation, including deeds, releases, closing affidavits, and other real estate documents.
· Review and preparation of settlement statements.
· Draft title objection letters.
· Draft closing instruction letters.
· Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations affecting the closing of real estate transactions.
· Communicate with clients during the course of the transaction, coordinate closing requirements and delivery of applicable transaction documents.
· Calendar critical dates and maintain a current critical date list.
· Archive all documents and emails in the document management system using the naming protocol established by the supervising attorney.
· Other duties as assigned.
Required Education/Experience:
· Minimum 5 years of prior law firm experience in commercial real estate.
· A Bachelor’s degree is required.
· Paralegal certification is a plus.
· Proficient with Microsoft 2010 applications (Word, Excel and Outlook).
· Ability to organize and prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
· Outstanding written and verbal communications, ability to professionally interact with clients, attorneys and staff.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality.
· Enjoys teamwork.
· Ability to work overtime if required.
