What You Will Be Doing
- Assisting with the preparation and review of commercial and residential real estate purchase and sale closing documents.
- Preparing and reviewing loan documents, including UCC Financing Statements.
- Coordinating commercial and residential real estate transaction closings, including maintaining closing checklists, preparing and distributing signature page packages, preparing and reviewing settlement statements, and coordinating with various transaction parties as required.
- Ordering and reviewing title and survey documents (including title exceptions), preparing title and survey objection letters, title/survey memoranda, and escrow closing letters.
- Ordering and collecting legal due diligence items for sale and loan transactions, including zoning/governmental compliance letters, UCC/judgment searches, entity authority documents, good standing certificates, and estoppel letters.
- Ordering, reviewing, and abstracting UCC/judgment/lien search results.
- Obtaining and reviewing zoning reports and conducting related zoning analyses.
- Preparing consents, resolutions, and other basic corporate documents.
- Conducting lease reviews and preparing lease abstracts.
- Handling or coordinating filing/recording documents.
- Preparing closing binders and handling post-closing matters.
What You Need for this Position
- At least 5 years of experience as a Real Estate Paralegal in a law firm setting.
- Strong title and survey skills.
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Keen attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple projects under tight time constraints.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously without error, set priorities, and accommodate rush requests.
- Knowledge of legal terms and matters to ensure forms submitted include all required related parties.
- Superior communication and customer service skills, exercising courtesy and diplomacy.
