ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
Health and Wellness is a large division of USF Student Success. It is comprised of multiple departments including Student Health, Student Counseling, Student Outreach and Support, Student Wellbeing (Health Promotion), Violence Prevention/Education, and Recreation & Wellness. The marketing and communication needs of these departments require multiple full-time staff to assist with creation of effective and timely programs to assist with all the units represented.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Working in a diverse higher education setting under the supervision of the Health & Wellness unit’s Marketing Officer, the Social Media and Marketing Specialist is responsible for integrating marketing concepts with other health promotion approaches to influence behaviors that benefit the USF student community. More specifically, the social media and marketing specialist assists in the creation, implementation, evaluation and enhancement of multi-faceted health and wellness marketing campaigns that engage students on multiple platforms online and in-person spaces.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supports overall Health & Wellness marketing efforts through content creation, branding, communication strategies and analytics. Assists the unit’s marketing officer to research, develop and implement marketing campaigns that promote messages, services and products that support the health and wellness needs of the student body as determined by unit leadership and/or departmental leadership.
Creates, collaborates and distributes content via social media, blogs, digital media, and print collateral. Collaborates with Health & Wellness and campus partners.
Assists in all aspects of production of wellness initiative publications and materials leading to behavior change, in compliance with USF policies and procedures, including website support when needed. Assists in the supervision of student employees.
Consults and provides support for research and social marketing initiatives. Oversees Health & Wellness main social media efforts and provide monthly reports to each department. As needed, works with a multi-disciplinary team to assist in the creation of crisis/emergency communication for students, faculty, staff and parents when issues affect physical and/or mental health.
Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires a High School diploma and 5 years of related experience, OR a Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of directly related experience. Appropriate college coursework may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
