Franklin Street is currently seeking a Communications Coordinator to join our Marketing Team in Tampa, FL.
The ideal candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, Marketing or related field. 1-3 years of full-time professional experience in a communications, marketing, or related role. Experience working with website platforms such as WordPress or Wix is preferred. Experience working with a media tracking program such as Cision, Meltwater, or Critical Mention preferred. Experience working with digital newsletter programs such as Constant Contact or Mailchimp is preferred.

Essential Functions:
- Create content for internal and external communications, including press releases, e-mail marketing campaigns, social media, and website content
- Manage department related website updates to maintain a consistent flow of content while using best practices in SEO
- Create employee bios as well as internal and external announcements on new hires, promotions and other notable updates and achievements
- Research, track and assist with the execution and packaging of various thought leadership and executive visibility opportunities that align with company’s PR objectives, including awards, byline opportunities, paid advertorials, sponsored content campaigns, etc.
- Assist with media relations management, including researching trade publications for media pitches and compiling editorial calendars and media kits
- Monitor and report on all media coverage and communication campaigns
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong writing and grammar skills
- Excellent time-management skills and the ability to take direction but work independently with little supervision.
- Understanding of the news cycle and basic PR processes
- Ability to think critically, creatively and innovatively
- Exemplary interpersonal skills and service orientation, and ability to interface effectively at all levels of the organization
- Self-starter that works well under pressure and responds proactively to change
- Ability to follow documented procedures and standards
- Must be neat, organized and detail oriented
- Experiencing writing and pitching press releases preferred
- Experience working with website platforms such as WordPress, Wix preferred
- Experience working with a media tracking program such as Cision, Meltwater, Critical Mention preferred
- Experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred
- Experience working with digital newsletter programs, such as Constant Contact, Mailchimp preferred
Education and Technical Requirements:
- B.S./B.A. degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, Marketing or related field
- 1-3 years of full-time professional experience in a communications, marketing or related role
- High level of proficiency in computer skills including MS Office applications (Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, Power Point, Publisher, Adobe Photo Shop) is required.
- Ability to touch-type accurately at 50 wpm or higher required.
