We’re a group of entrepreneurs in a hip office smack dab in downtown St. Pete. Designer space, unlimited espresso, surrounded by super smart people making things happen. Our rock star Community Manager has accepted her dream job and sadly we need to replace her. She leaves big shoes to fill, so we are looking for an exceptional person for this role. The job is not hard, but it does require the right personality and qualities.
Specific QUALITIES we are looking for:
- Tidy appearance. You can look modern and fashionably business casual – but you need to look put together every day.
- Professional demeanor. If you don’t have office experience, that doesn’t disqualify you, but we need someone who knows how to talk to business people – clearly, respectfully, accurately, and articulately. Hospitality experience, if it involves dealing with professionals, is terrific.
- Driving desire for neat surroundings. We want someone who is actively bothered by messy spaces and takes it upon him/herself to straighten things up.
- Gumption. Can’t stress this enough. If you wait to be told what to do, or if you’re a “just check the box” kind of person, we’re not going to work out for each other. We want someone with initiative, ideas, who gets things done. See something that needs to be dealt with? Deal with it. System is broken? Suggest a better way. Encounter a problem? Persevere until the issue is resolved. We are idea people and our whole schtick is growing, accomplishing, doing, and achieving. We expect the same from all of our employees.
- Warm, friendly, and inviting personality. Your fundamental job is to make people in our office feel welcome and supported. Smile. Help them. Anticipate needs. Converse. Bring people together. Show, don’t tell.
- Comfort level with technology. We are into technology and we have fancy stuff here. You have to be able to use it (hardware and software) with ease, tell other people how to use it, and figure out how to get it fixed if something breaks.
- Spanish speaking skills would be a plus but not required.
Your JOB DUTIES:
- Coming up with great ideas for supporting the people who work here, and making things happen.
- Answering phones, greeting visitors, conducting tours, being in promotion mode.
- Fixing stuff that breaks (like unjamming the copier, calling IT when the network is down, etc.).
- Keeping our space clean and neat.
- Talking to people, learning about them, introducing them to others, being a “networker.”
- Conceiving, scheduling, planning and helping to execute events like lunches, cocktail parties, etc.
- Ordering supplies, managing vendors, keeping things stocked.
- Maintaining files, staying organized.
- Scheduling and overseeing 1-2 people, ensuring they get their jobs done.
- Running errands when necessary.
- Being generally agreeable and doing whatever required to help our people succeed.
THE NITTY GRITTY:
Hours: Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm. Occasional evening events for a few hours, but these are known in advance. Major holidays off.
Pay: $40,000 / year. PTO accrued by pay period, equivalent to 2 weeks per year.
Location: Downtown St. Pete.
Hiring Timeline: Interviewing ASAP, start end of February.
