Position Overview:
The Community Manager leads and executes our overall community development strategy – our “Ground Game” – targeting and engaging individuals from all our customer personas and sales channels in the campus’s region. The Community Manager’s platform is the “head of the spear” in regard to meaningful prospect engagement – which we believe starts with in-person interaction. The Community Manager’s job, done well, will require significant support from the Campus Director and Admissions Counselor in achieving the highest brand impact in overall community engagement.

Responsibilities:
- SecureSet-Hosted Events:
- Manage all SecureSet-run Meetups for the campus area.
- Schedule, staff, and manage our “stairway” of SecureSet-hosted community Meetup events (as defined and packaged by corporate) designed to provide insight and clarity into the career, practice, lifestyle, mission and accessibility of cybersecurity via SecureSet (1-2 events per week).
- Lead the “on the ground” community promotion of all SecureSet-hosted community events across all local and regional market channels.
- Engage and encourage event attendees to build an informed passion and personal confidence for transition into cybersecurity careers via SecureSet.
- Continuously gather, analyze and report on SecureSet event performance data, by individual event type, regarding sign-ups, turnout, new lead gen and lead quality.
- Continuously seek Meetup membership and general community feedback on event content.
- Participate on SecureSet’s CM Sync meetings to regularly analyze event performance data and community feedback, come up with new content ideas, and recommend changes to the current event lineup.
- Ideate and recommend campus-specific event topics, sequencing or frequency based upon local demographics that should outperform
- Execute event strategy as outlined in corporate marketing strategy
- Creates content (photos and blogs) after events to increase engagement on campus pages
- Complementary Community Engagement:
- Impactful, credible and effective “on the ground” engagement and relationship development with all customer persona-aligned community groups including: professional organizations (e.g. ISSA); industry organizations (e.g. AFCEA); community groups (e.g. complementary Meetups); HS, 2 and 4 year college administrators, student/graduate groups and clubs; and Veteran support organizations.
- CD to help prioritize and which groups add value and CM to report on target group outreach and progress on CM Sync calls
- Education Community Engagement (2 and 4 year colleges):
- Engage and develop relationships with administrators, instructors, students, graduating classes, and student clubs (tech and analytical) for all educational institutions in the region.
- Encourage attendance to SecureSet meetups and identify opportunities to promote SecureSet events on campuses.
- Conferences and Fairs:
- Identify customer-complementary conferences, job fairs, career fairs and other recruiting opportunities, and propose, plan and execute SecureSet participation / engagement scope.
- Identify staffing, collateral, equipment and pre-, during, and post-event communication needs in support of proper brand representation at conferences and fairs, and engage Marketing support for strategy and paid execution (FB, Twitter, SEM, etc.)
- Operational Engagement:
- Coordinate and manage participation of CD and AC, as needed, in support of all event and community engagement efforts to achieve a strong, credible and confident (in regard to cybersecurity and education) brand presence.
- Work closely with the Admissions Counselor to leverage their skills to maximize recruitment and lead-gen outcomes at all community engagements.
- Provide event support for campus orientation, graduation and hiring day events.
- Manage vendors, budgets and payments as requested by management.
- Collaborate and sync regularly with all other SecureSet Campus Community Managers to analyze successes, failures and drive new ideas / opportunities and continuous improvement – and advance best practices.
- Manage and execute social media posting and content strategies for all community activities as defined by Marketing.
- Current social promotion leads people to ground game – must have event strategy locked and scheduled across Meetup, website (WordPress), and any other syndication channels
Critical Capabilities for Success in Role
- CRM knowledge
- Understanding of CRM system and how to navigate to find information as requested by Management team and CD
- Ability to properly use and troubleshoot
- HubSpot
- Understanding of marketing automation basics for lead-gen activities
- Ability to properly use and troubleshoot HubSpot issues
- Ability to properly use all forms and surveys created for events and lead-gen
- Additional activities in HubSpot as requested (with training: either in person, step-by-step guides, or video trainings)
- Basic database management
- An understanding of how SecureSet databases work together to ensure data quality and consistency
- Social Media knowledge
- Ability to properly draft social media content for Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and other channels as requested
- Attention to detail in content including proper tagging, character limits, link shortening, and other activities as required
- Ability to draft blog content on a regular basis for events
- Ability to curate industry content
