Position Overview :

Are you a people person? Are you a community builder? Are you oh so excellent at getting people to engage with one another? Are you obsessed with culture? If so, the Tampa Bay Wave Community Manager position is for you.

Our culture is at the core of what we do at Wave. Because of that we are seeking a full time person to foster community engagement, new client interactions, and partnerships to bring Wave’s brand through to our clients and new members. This role will be best filled by an extrovert and hyper-networker that loves people and building relationships.

Reporting directly to our Marketing Director, the person in this position will serve as the face of the Tampa Bay Wave community, managing communications with all current and prospective clients in a manner that is consistent with Wave’s marketing and branding strategies. Day-to-day activities may include culture creation & development, coworking customer service and reception desk management, community relations, and collaboration with marketing staff on venture center collateral development (print and online).

The position will also be a community-facing position, developing and maintaining relations with organizations that make up the Tampa Bay startup community. In addition this person will oversee a new online membership.

Main responsibilities:

  • Fosters a collaborative workspace for coworking members and new/prospective clients
  • Membership Sales and Sales Strategy
  • Onboards new coworking members and introduces them to the community
  • Customer service issues related to the center
  • Communications to coworking members and overseeing monthly NERD lunches (a monthly gathering of coworking members)
  • Receives all inbound inquiries (via Contact Us form, Meetup.com inquiries, walk-ins, etc.), and funneling to appropriate Wave staff
  • Collaborates with marketing staff to develop effective membership promo strategies and collateral
  • Ensures website content related to the venture center is current, including lists of tenant companies
  • Oversees lobby/reception area to ensure all visitors and first-time guests enjoy a positive first impression; at a minimum, ensures the front desk is properly staffed at all times
  • Oversees the event space usage, both for internal purposes as well as Partner/Sponsor purposes, including setup logistics, billing, etc.
  • Manages the financial obligations of venture center revenues (occupancy/rentals) and expenses
  • Supports sponsorship fulfillment and acquisition for sponsorships pertaining to the coworking space

  • Team player with an emphasis on high quality customer service
  • Entrepreneurial in nature (experience with startup organizations is a plus)
  • Creative (experienced in design and use of design tools)
  • Able to keep, maintain, and coordinate multiple schedules and projects
  • Proficient in use of technology tools and programs
  • Excellent in oral and written communication skills
  • A clean freak at heart. Loves organizing.
  • High Emotional intelligence

Requirements/Preferences:

  • 2-plus years as a member/employee of a coworking or similarly-styled workspace
  • Existing relationships within the Tampa Bay entrepreneurial and/or early stage investor communities.
  • Experience managing a group with multiple stakeholders, personalities, wants, and needs
  • Experience in Customer Service and/or managing a customer service team
  • Experience coordinating events
  • Tech-Savvy – Design, social media
  • Strong communication/writing skills and experience sending communications to a group
  • Addicted to culture, making people happy, making sure people have fun, social networking events

Overachiever:

  • Professional experience in a nonprofit organization or similar organization that relies on outside funding
  • Experience working for or founding a technology startup
  • Photography/graphic design experience
