Straz Center is currently looking for an Community Partnership Coordinator who Under the direction of the Director of Community Engagement and Education programs, this position contributes to the mission and vision of the Straz Center by building community awareness of the Arts and by increasing opportunities that provide unique and diverse experiences for the community at large. This position serves as a liaison to the community and Straz Education and may represent the Straz Center and the Patel Conservatory on special projects and various community committees. This position drives awareness through the creation, development, data tracking and implementation of outreach programs and services including but not limited to: Community Partnership Program, Opera in Schools, Day at the Straz, and Conservatory To-Go!

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Community Partnership Program:

  • Establish and maintain consistent communication with partnership site contacts about program needs, expectations and outcomes.
  • Designs partnership program offerings with each site during planning period.
  • Conducts partnership site and teaching artist pre-& post program planning meetings.
  • Oversees the production of partnership site performances & events on and off site.
  • Schedules regular site visits to partnership sites to maintain instructional program quality.
  • Schedules, evaluates and supervises Community Program teaching artists.
  • Oversees Professional Development Opportunities for Community Program Teaching Artists.

Community Relations:

  • Furthers the mission of the Straz Education throughout the Tampa Bay community.
  • Functions as a point of contact for Straz Education to community businesses, agencies, organizations, groups and schools.
  • Actively seeks opportunities to inform the community of available educational opportunities and programming to include but not limited to scholarships, opportunities to attend performances or dress rehearsals and participate in various workshops and master classes.
  • Assist with development and maintenance of relationships with School District officials, educators, community leaders and other nonprofit organizations
  • Implements, and periodically suggests new community-based programs, partnerships, and other engagement initiatives that relate to the mission of the Straz Center and the Patel Conservatory.
  • Oversees Conservatory-to-Go Program and connects department managers with program inquiries.
  • May provide education representation, as needed, for all daytime Center activities and field trips.

Arts Education Initiatives:

  • Manages from concept through completion a variety of special projects and programs.
  • Assist Center Marketing with the coordination of Kids Night on Broadway, Teens Take Broadway and Teens Take the Straz, and other activities, as appropriate.
  • Teaches outreach classes in area of expertise, as assigned.

Administrative:

  • Inputs and manages outreach schedules to include the detail on who/what/when/why as well as any changes.
  • Additional duties as requested by the Director of Community Engagement.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position manages and evaluates Community program teaching artists, and interns.

Minimum Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills required to effectively represent the Conservatory’s priorities, agenda, policies and positions to third parties.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills. Must be able to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to be proactive and take initiative.
  • Exceptional attention to detail while maintaining the ability to meet all established deadlines.
  • Exceptional oral and written communications skills are a must.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software including Power Point and other relevant software.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and assignments.

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Arts Administration, Marketing or other related field required.
  • Experience with community relations and building community networks and partnerships.
  • 3 years experience in program coordination or in a similar position with related responsibilities preferred.
