We are looking for a Community Supervision Specialist to fill an immediate opening in our Tampa office.
The qualified Community Supervision Specialist will have:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least 6-months months experience with at risk you. Familiarity with Juvenile Justice System and community resources preferred
- Must be at least twenty-one years of age
- Must have valid driver’s license, ability to use personal vehicle for work purposes, and appropriate vehicle insurance
- Basic computer proficiency
The qualified candidate will be able to perform the following task:
- Conduct face to face contacts at various locations with youth assigned
- Develop and maintain helping relationship emphasizing youth accountability
- Provide objective written documentation of the youth’s compliance/non-compliance with court ordered requirements
- Complete required documentation, including discharge information, for assigned youth in an accurate and timely manner
- Enter data and reports promptly into all required database systems
- Notify supervisor and Probation Officer immediately in the event of a youth crisis, suspected illegal activity or any other youth or program incident.
- Attend detention hearings in Circuit Court to complete initial contact requirements and install Global Positioning System (GPS/EM) device when applicable
- Respond to violations of supervision in accordance with contract requirements
Requirements
Physical Demands:
- Required to drive daily to locations for meetings or visits to residential facilities
- The employee will work in varied residential environments based on assigned caseload
- Job requires flexible, non-traditional work schedule including evenings and weekends. Will be “on call” via cell phone to respond to after-hours program violations
- Frequently lifts and moves up to 10 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
- Demonstrate proficiency for all physical intervention techniques and mechanical restraints in accordance with Protective Action Response.
