Job Summary
The Construction Administrator position is responsible for extensive organization and thorough review of submitted draw materials. This unique role is one that demands an ability to facilitate communication between parties and to advise underwriters regarding issues related to each construction draw. The Construction Administrator role also requires the proper handling of funds in accordance with current escrow rules and provisions on those projects where we have agreed to disburse the draw funds. The Construction Administrator provides substantial construction draw support to our underwriters throughout First American Title.
Essential Functions
- Reviews and analyzes construction documents, such as:
- Pay applications/change orders
- Invoices
- Lien waivers
- Updated sworn construction statements
- Updated project balance statements
- Determines which payments require lien waivers
- Complies with terms of disbursing and escrow agreements
- Complies with internal processes and confidentiality
- Communicates as appropriate to internal underwriters, lenders, project managers, contractors, and owners any issues or questions regarding the construction draws and draw documentation
- Establishes and maintains internal and external relationships
Knowledge and Skills/Technology Used
- Strong attention to detail

- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Escrow funds control skills preferred
- A high level of discretionary judgment as to appropriate communications
- Ability to manage multiple projects taking place over many months
- Ability to identify and establish appropriate tracking solutions unique to each project
- Ability to interpret and evaluate project budgets
- Interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated; self-starter
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and focus on immediate assignments
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Typical Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Typical Range of Experience
- 1-4 years of experience
- General title knowledge of construction projects and/or prior work experience in banking or accounting preferred
