Construction Helper – (200000DN)
Job OverviewPerforms manual to semi-skilled duties assisting with construction, maintenance, repair or replacement of transportation assets such as roads, bridges, ditches, culverts, road shoulders and associated structures (storm water, fence, guardrails, ponds, etc.), County right-of-ways, medians, property and areas under the responsibility of Public Works.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have will have the ability to work alongside busy roadways performing manual labor in outside environment, exposed to heat, sun, high humidity, rain and other adverse weather conditions. Candidate will walk/stand for prolonged periods of time (approximately six (6) hours) per day. The job also requires frequent fine manipulations, repetitive motion, lifting/carrying objects weighing up to 30 pounds, and occasional bending, crawling, climbing and stooping.

Emergency Management Responsibilities
In the event of an emergency or disaster, an employee may be required to respond promptly to duties and responsibilities as assigned by the employee’s department, the County’s Office of Emergency Management, or County Administration. Such assignments may be for before, during or after the emergency/disaster.
