Due to the retirements and relocations, our Tampa client has a need for a strong Litigation Assistant in their construction practice group.  Qualified candidates must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience as a legal administrative assistant with a focus on litigation. Experience with construction litigation is preferred.

Qualified candidates must be proactive, flexible, have excellent organizational and communication skills, proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, and experience with electronic document management systems; Filesite experience is a plus. The ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks based on business needs is essential. 

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Assist attorneys in preparing, proofreading and revising legal documents 
  • Scheduling of Court appearances and depositions
  • Trial and deposition preparation experience
  • Proficiency with electronic filings in Federal and Florida State Courts
  • Time entry and client billing 
  • Maintenance of files and records
  • Submission of new business intake and conflicts checks 
  • Scheduling travel, appointments and meetings
  • Maintaining attorneys’ calendars and contact lists 
  • Backup coverage for other Legal Administrative Assistants when necessary

They advise clients on sophisticated business transactions across a range of issues and industries, including both domestic and international matters and handle a wide variety of transactions for clients throughout the country and internationally.  Locally, they have a strong presence in Tampa, with 95 attorneys in the office, including all administrative management.

They also cater to high-growth clients, including technology-based companies, advising them on capital formation, debt financing, corporate governance and transactions, mergers and acquisitions, securities compliance and disclosures, tax planning, and cyber-security concerns, as well as all phases of real property site acquisition and disposition, financing, permitting, and development.

Their government consultants have extensive expertise dealing with federal and state regulators, legislative bodies, and executive agencies on a wide range of issues, including insurance and tort reform, health care, financial regulation, government investigations, and enforcement actions.

Salary: $60-70K. Excellent benefits.  37.5 hour week (M-F. 9:00-5:30).
