CONSTRUCTION PROCUREMENT/PROJECT MANAGER ASSISTANT

Skills Needed:
The position is full time and requires the following skills:
- Good, organized communicator, both verbal and written
- Eager for improvement, growth, and life-long learning
- Good knowledge of construction materials, processes, products, and techniques
- Experience reading and using building specifications and construction documents
- Detailed and thorough, with an ability and desire to get things right
- Resourceful and assertive to meet schedule and other time-sensitive goals
- Productive in use of time, effective at accomplishing results
- Multi-tasking skills for keeping up with hands-on management of several projects at a time
- Patience and personality to work with clients and a team effectively
- Use technology well, such as business and web-based software (MS Word, Excel, etc.)
Experience Required:
- Minimum of 3 years in the residential construction industry
- Minimum of 3 years of construction procurement/purchasing experience
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
The Construction Procurement/Project Manager Assistant will play a key role in our organization by assisting the Project Managers with all aspects of pre-construction for each project as well as assisting Construction Managers with purchasing support and organizational items during construction.
- Communicate and coordinate with trade partners and vendors
- Track the quote process for each project to include status of quotes sent and received
- Develop product comparison sheets to be reviewed by team
- Provide regular reports and updates on the status of quotes by project
- Track, issue, and document purchase orders
- Input bid information into BuilderTrend project management software
- Research and place miscellaneous orders from the field
- Assemble and maintain project binders
- Coordinate material and product samples
