Shoreline Foundation, Inc. (SFI) is an energetic, fast-paced marine General Contractor whom is currently seeking a CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER to join our growing team.
The project manager is responsible for the overall direction on multiple construction projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assemble job information packages for review with Estimator(s),CAD Dept, Sales Dept, Superintendent(s), Supervisor and Subcontractors.
Establish and ensure common understanding of the project scope of work, schedule and budget among the various trade supervisor(s) and subcontractors.
Develop and maintain project schedule.
Select and negotiate with subcontractors and vendors; purchase/buy materials for assigned projects.
Coordinate and facilitate job startup, progress reviews and job close-out meetings.
Respond to requests for information from owner/client representatives.
Prepare Change Order cost estimates.
Review, evaluate and manage job schedule and costs. Work closely with Shoreline Foundation, Inc. staff to resolve issues and achieve project milestones.
Establish frequent communication to coordinate job planning as well as performance and reporting among the client, superintendent, subcontractors and the Shoreline Foundation, Inc. business office.
PROJECT CONTROL OBJECTIVES:
Oversight of projects at a high level from beginning to end including budget, costs, unexpected events, general performance, and overall progress against plan.
Ensure that the day-to-day operations of projects are transitioned effectively from preconstruction when work commences in the field.
Represent SFI to the Owner(s), Architects, Consultants, Government Authorities, Vendors and Subcontractors.
Project operations responsible for ensuring that Projects achieve budget, schedule, quality and profitability objectives.
Maintain a thorough understanding of the SFI/Owner Contract; ensuring that project achieves compliance with the contract.
Visit sites regularly to monitor project performance, schedule, and expenditures with project staff, highlight potential challenges and provide leadership in responding creatively to bring projects in on schedule, under budget, and to the standard of quality expected.
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT:
Cash Management
Accounts Receivable
Accurate Financial Forecasting
Profit & Loss (P&L) including full understanding of project contingencies, liabilities and savings potential
SCHEDULE MANAGEMENT:
Development of the Baseline Schedule
Monitor schedule performance
Assist the project team in initiation of the Construction Plan and workflow
SAFETY MANAGEMENT:
Champion jobsite safety effort, motivating the on-site team in the implementation of SFI Safety Program.
Coordinate with Corporate Safety Officer that all projects are maintaining proper safety standards
Ensure original project budget includes project appropriate safety funding.
MEETING MANAGEMENT:
Attend all scheduled meetings necessary to monitor and manage project profitability.
Chair and/or attend weekly project staff meetings.
Client Relationships
Attend Owner and project meetings, maintain continuous client contact to gauge performance perceptions and communicate relevant information to Project Team.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in construction worker management, engineering or applicable discipline and experience relative to project size/scope.
Minimum of two years of successful construction project management. Preferred: Five years of successful construction project management in the specific trade of the construction business.
Excellent business judgment demonstrated by consistently achieving profitability objectives and strong project close-outs with client and subcontractor relationships in good standing.
Experience leading multiple successful projects including development of direct reports and maintaining relationships with external entities.
The ability to manage and embrace change. Respond and adapt to new processes and new ways of looking at old problems.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to confidently and decisively take action.
Required to have a valid and insurable driver’s license; OSHA 10 + 30 DESIRABLE-TWIC Card.
WORKING CONDITIONS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. Job site walking. SFI is based in South Florida. Must be willing to travel from time to time for short durations.
