CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGERS control the time, cost, and quality of the construction projects from conception to completion. They plan and coordinate all aspects of the construction process, including hiring contractors and working with engineers, architects, and vendors. A single manager might oversee multiple construction projects or specific aspects of a larger project. They are responsible for budgeting, organization, implementation, and scheduling.
Jobsites are typically located throughout HILLSBOROUGH, PINELLAS, and PASCO COUNTIES, AND SOMETIMES BEYOND. A normal work week includes 10 hours Mon-Thu and 8 hours Fri-Sat. You can expect to earn income for 48 – 56 hours (including overtime) each week.
Essential Duties – Construction Project Manager:
- Communicating with owners, vendors, and subcontractors
- Coordinating with jobsite superintendents while maintaining a positive client relationship
- Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs
- Issuing purchase orders and subcontracts
- Meet contractual conditions of performance
- Scheduling, invoicing, estimating and takeoffs
- Review work progress on daily basis
- Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status
- Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones
- Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts, and obtain permits and licenses
- Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks
- Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques
Requirements – Construction Project Manager:
- Degree in related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a project manager, project engineer, and/or estimator
- Detailed knowledge of commercial/residential construction materials and methods
- Strong organizational, communication, and computer proficiency skills
