Full Job Description

General Contractor is looking for a Construction Supervisor / Project Manager with commercial experience to hire immediately. We are based in the Tampa Bay area and the ideal candidate will have commercial field supervision AND project management experience. Must posses the following qualifications and skills:

Job Description:

  • Work with drawings, specifications, supplier quotations, engineering standards, and other information to provide efficient project management
  • Obtain and analyze subcontractor quotes across varying trades
  • Identify qualified subcontractors and negotiate prices.
  • Consult vendors and other departmental personnel to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
  • Track scope of work for each project
  • Meet with clients to review and keep them up to date on the project status and timeline.
  • Manage and coordinates client, design team & subcontractors from pre-construction thru close out of project.
  • Performs site surveys, site supervision, estimating new projects, coordinate design meetings, and proposed solutions to issues within all aspects of commercial construction
  • Manages and coordinates vendors and subcontractors on multiple projects concurrently
  • Be accountable for project goals & maintain project schedules.
  • Contract Management
  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials to jobsite by working with purchasing department and vendors
  • Regular interaction with vendors and sub-contractors

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years recent experience in commercial construction field supervision and project management.
  • Solid understanding of commercial construction documents.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in design related activities or project management
  • Experience with design-build, construction management.
  • Experienced in the use of computer-based management systems and competent in the use of recognized electronic spreadsheets, word processing and scheduling programs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong management skills.
  • Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices.
  • Broad understanding of industry.
  • Familiarity with requirements of drawings and specifications and with terms and conditions of contracts and purchase orders.
  • Good math skills
  • Ability to read drawings and specifications.
  • Functions effectively as part of a team.
  • Exhibits strong leadership qualities.
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
