Controller
East Tampa Commercial Roofing Contractor with 200 employees and $40 mil in annual sales is looking for a Full-Time / Permanent accounting professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a background as an Accountant Manager in the construction industry.
Job Responsibilities: Supervises a small accounting staff. Reports directly to president. Ensures timely and accurate preparation/reporting of monthly and annual financial statements, supervises staff to ensure timely, accurate review and reporting of all AR, AP, PR and invoicing, and ensures compliance with state and federal government regulations.
Job Duties:
· Prepares monthly financial statements following generally accepted accounting principles,
· Prepares general ledger reconciliations.
· Performs monthly closing process.
· Prepare quarterly and annual PR and sales tax returns.
· Oversee all accounting functions including AR, AP, PR and billing.
· Coordinate annual review; and WC/401(k) audit.
· Ensure compliance with State and Federal government regulations.
Qualifications:
· 5-7 years general accounting and management experience. CPA a plus.
· Degree from an accredited university in accounting, business, finance or a related field.
· Must be familiar with construction terminology and obligations.
· Familiar with Florida lien laws; understanding of AIA invoicing and documentation.
· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Sage Timberline is a plus.
· Be able to deal effectively and professionally with people.
· Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage in a dynamic environment.
· Dependable and self-motivated.
