GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for building maintenance to include electrical, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC,) carpentry, plumbing to maintain buildings and equipment in a safe condition, prevents degradation of property and equipment, and prevent failures that would cause reduction in service. Uses hand, power and specialty tools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identifies and corrects building and equipment problems by performing carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, and HVAC work.
  • Inspects facility and performs necessary repairs to ensure property is kept in good operating condition.
  • Maintains stock of building supplies, materials and parts.
  • Obtains estimates/ quotes for materials and services needed for repairs.
  • Plans and schedules corrective action and preventative maintenance.
  • Oversees contractors and vendors to determine that the works is correctly performed and completed on a timely manner.
  • Conducts quarterly building inspection.
  • Prepares reports of inspection as necessary.
  • Gathers information to provide recommendations on requested improvements/modifications to facility.
  • Adheres to all safety codes and OSHA standards.
  • Works overtime when required.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities.
  • May be required to work on call for repairs necessary during off duty hours.

Educational/Vocational/Previous Experience Recommendations:

  • Educational or technical training in a field related to facilities maintenance preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 year of facilities maintenance experience.
  • Valid FL driver’s license with clean driving record.

Working Conditions:

  • Warehouse environment.
  • Exposure to machinery with moving parts.
  • Some exposure to extreme temperatures, fumes, chemicals, and outside weather conditions, including wet and/or humid conditions.
