Full Time. The Coordinator of Youth Ministry is responsible for providing a comprehensive and dynamic program for children in middle school and high school. The ideal candidate has experience in implementing a comprehensive approach to youth ministry. This position requires knowledge of Catholic Social Teaching and the teachings of the Catholic Church. This position will provide leadership, vision, and implementation of a comprehensive Youth Ministry addressing the needs of parish youth from the sixth through twelfth grades. The candidate will collaborate with families and volunteers in the realization of this ministry.The ideal candidate will: be a practicing Catholic; hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in theology; have a certificate and experience in Youth Ministry; be proficient in current technology, social media and Web design; have strong organizational and multitasking skills; and have experience in budgeting and development. The candidate must show leadership in recruitment, training volunteers and outreach in the community. He or she must also have catechetical experience and/or completions of Diocesan Lay Pastoral Ministry Institute Program (LPMI) and/or earned Master Catechist Certificate are highly desirable. College degree preferred.
Required skills the ability to recruit and lead teams of volunteers; be able to communicate with youth, parents, volunteers, and parish staff: the ability to work as part of a Lifelong Faith Formation team: writing and computer skills with experience and knowledge of WebPages and social media: organization skills and be detail oriented. The person called to lead this ministry, should be capable of creating and maintaining a Safe Environment for all involved.
