We are currently seeking an experienced Controller for our Corporate Accounting team. The ideal candidate will possess a background in commercial real estate brokerage accounting and an enthusiasm to deliver exceptional service to clients and collaborate with team members to take the division to new heights.

The Corporate Controller will supervise the corporate accounting staff, corporate accounting manager and support the CFO. The Corporate Controller will oversee and perform accounting, financial reporting, and auditing functions for Franklin Street and our affiliated businesses. Successful candidates will be those possessing general ledger accounting/financial reporting experience and strong systems/process proficiency combined with an enthusiasm for customer service. Included will be the performance of the duties that follow:

Requirements

• Follows generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to perform a variety of accounting functions for various real estate and related service companies:

o Performs journal entries

o Compiles and prepares monthly financial statements

o Prepares general ledger reconciliations

o Performs monthly closing processes

o Processes accounts receivables, accounts payables, and payroll transactions

o Responsible for administering accounting procedures, monitoring internal controls and database management

• Supervises the corporate accounting staff

• Coordinate Corporate Audit

• Be able to multitask between various companies

• Be able to roll out new processes and procedures

• Works on special projects and performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 7-9 years of applicable general accounting experience required

• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in accounting, business, finance, or related field from a regionally accredited college or university and/or equivalent corporate accounting experience is required.

• CPA required

• Big four or equivalent audit experience

• High level of proficiency in computer skills including MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) and internet / application software is required along with a willingness and ability to learn new software programs.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills

• Ability to follow-direction and work independently with minimal supervision

• Ability to query, manage, comprehend and provide analysis for large data sets and complex business documents, leases, etc. required.

• Strong work ethic and the ability to hit set deadlines.

• Ability to work on multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and manage rapidly changing assignments in a team environment.
