Position Description:
Inspirata is looking for a Controller with an entrepreneurial spirit with strong leadership ability to join our fast growing healthcare informatics organization. In addition to having experience working with PE’s, VC’s and M&A’s, the Controller will supervise and direct AP, AR, and general accounting functions including reviewing accounting staff’s work and leading the month end close process. The ideal candidate will also have experience with financial reporting and analysis, budget management and forecasting, cash management, and ad hoc reporting. In addition, the Controller will oversee the yearly audit conducted by an outside CPA firm.
Responsibilities will include:
- Responsible for leading a small team of accounting and finance professionals through the month-end close process, financial reporting, and forecast/budgeting process
- Oversee and manage the staff regarding reconciliation of general ledger accounts on a monthly basis and resolve any discrepancies
- Perform Balance Sheet and P&L analysis on a monthly basis
- Perform technical accounting research (GAAP and IFRS) on new accounting standards and transactions
- Initiate process improvements to increase efficiencies and streamline processes to ensure accuracy of financial accounts while ensuring deadlines are met
- Lead a team of accounting/finance professionals by providing transparency of expectations, effective mentoring and providing performance feedback
- Manage the annual audit process with the CPA firm
Requirements and Ideal Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 6+ years’ total experience in Public accounting (Big 4 preferred)
- Experience with Private Equity or VC’s experience is desirable
- Healthcare Industry and SaaS software is strongly preferred
- International/foreign currency exposure preferred
- ERP experience, specifically with cloud-based Intacct is a plus
- Advanced level Excel skills are required
