Acara Solutions is looking for a Cost Accountant our client located in Gibsonton, FL.
- The Cost Accountant will oversee and analyze all cost expenditures related to the manufacturing processes in the facility.
- This position is responsible for producing detailed cost reports and analyses in support of product cost analysis.
- The position is also the finance liaison with the Inventory Analyst in support of accurate and timely inventory general ledger transactions & inventory standard costs (valuation).
- In addition, the position is responsible for developing and maintaining the financial cost reports necessary to fully explain standard and gross margin analyses and the variances to planned results.
- All manufacturing cost aspects including material, labor and overhead, price-volume-mix analyses as well as efficiency, productivity and spend variances will be monitored and explained.
- Collecting and analyzing data about a company’s product costs
- Maintaining product cost models
- Performing analysis on actual vs planned product cost performance
- Calculating, setting, and maintaining standard costs of manufactured goods in SAP
- Developing and analyzing cost standards
- Carrying out cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis, (contribution margin analysis)
- Establishing costs of business processes such as administration, labor, shipping.
- Performing account reconciliations
- Preparing & supporting audit reports
- Recommending changes to the company’s processes and policies to reduce cost and maximize profit
- Advising executives and upper management on appropriate costing based on financial data
- Managing the company’s balance sheet and accounting books
Supporting other company accountants with invoicing and capital
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Minimum of 7 years’ progressive experience within accounting/finance with specialty in manufacturing cost accounting
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- Master’s degree
- Proven record in assisting operational leadership with understanding and improving processes to support bottom line results
