Job Skills / Requirements

This job role projects growth from a Supervisor job role to a Manager job role.

The Shift Supervisor is responsible for the direct training and supervision of a designated team or team members.  The Shift Supervisor reports to the Shift Manager.

Should be responsible to the Buidling Representative for the component performance for all custodial work.  Make sufficient daily routing inspections as deemed, necesssary and appropirate to assure that the work is performed as specified and take immediate corrective action as may be required to full comply.  Provide a professional trained on the night shift to direct the cleaning activities of the custodial staff including MSDS of all products and all known hazardous substances present in the Janitors closest or storage in the building.  Maintain proficiency in all techniques and equipment used by the custodial staff.  Make recommendations to the Manager for changes in supplies, equipment or procedures to improve safety or to reduce costs.  On an-on-going basis, provides approriate technical and chemical training to all Janitorial Staff.  Investigates documents and reports all unusual occurrences to the Manager.  Ensures that all equipment is tested regularly.  Monitors and assure that employees are properly clocking in/out adhering to company policy.  The Supervisor must be able to work weekends, nights, holidays and any assigned shifts.

Qualifications:  Must have knowledge of proper cleaning or polishing agents to use on various type of surfaces, icluding metals, wooedwork floors and floor coverings.  Knowledge of Safety Ordinance and Regulations. Ability to effectively present information in one-on one and group situations to customers.  Must speak, write and read English.

Physical Qualifications:  Walk constantly during a shift of 8 hours while doing inspections and working on different custodial duties.  Bend, climb, grasp, carry, kneel, pull, push, reach overhead, squat, stand and twist during long periods of time and up to 50 pounds.
