SUMMARY

This position is primarily responsible for event set-up and keeping the onsite and offsite buildings in clean and orderly condition; cleaning restrooms, dusting, mopping, waxing and vacuuming floors and removing trash.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANRESPONSIBILITIES

Works with a variety of teams (full time employees, voluntary and/or temporary) to coordinate and facilitate necessary repairs and/or event set-up.

Works cooperatively with other UACDC staff to coordinate event booking logistics.

Checks equipment in and out with customer and identifies any damages to exclude from deposit.

Core duties and responsibilities include the following:

Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums hallways, stairs and office space.

Dusts, sanitizes, waxes, buffs and strips floors, and cleans restrooms, common areas, and windows.

Empties tenants’ trash and garbage containers.

Maintains building, performing minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities.

Cleans debris from sidewalk.

Flexible weekly schedule including evenings and weekends.

Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast-paced professional office environment.

Sensitivity to diversity and people from a variety of socio-economic classes.

Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Will be required to use company vehicle to travel to offsite buildings. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

One to three years related experience as a janitor /custodian; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Bi-lingual is an added plus.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have some computer literacy knowledge including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Outlook and Internet software.
