The City of Port St. Lucie, currently the 7th largest City in the state and home to over 206,000 residents, is seeking an experienced Deputy City Attorney to join its in-house legal staff. Port St. Lucie is ranked one the Florida’s fastest growing cities (News Break), one of the most affordable cities for homebuyers (LendEDU), one of the best places for families (U.S. News), one of the best places to retire (U.S. News), one of the safest cities in the United States (Money, Inc.), and the number one best place to live in Florida (BankRate). This position requires general knowledge of municipal law, with experience in procurement, parks & recreation, or code enforcement strongly desired. The ideal candidate will join an in-house staff of 10 attorneys and 6 paralegals in handling the legal affairs of the City, a Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) and the Governmental Finance Corporation (GFC, a 501 corp., instrumentality of the City). We have a close-knit collegial legal team and we’re looking for a good fit. A successful candidate should have a minimum of 5 years experience, preferably representing government clients, be a member in good standing with The Florida Bar. Position open until filled.
