The Opportunity

In keeping with the Mattamy Mission of providing The Best Homeowner Experience, the Design Studio Manager will apply their customer service, solid sales skills and experience in a fast-paced, creative, and client focused environment.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

●  Review selected and available options, floor plans with homeowners and explain standards and upgrades to these items.

●  Communicate features, advantages and benefits associated with various upgrades and identify opportunities to sell upgrades through effective questioning and listening skills.

●  Accurately interpret homeowner’s requests and produce necessary written description as follow through on providing custom price information.

●  Prepare all final documentation including work orders, color charts, waivers, amendments and final sketches. Ensure paperwork is accurate and clear stated and distribute in a timely manner. Follow up on any outstanding issues.

●  Attend Design Consultant meetings and Design Studio general meetings to stay current on product knowledge and design center policies.

●  Respond to any concerns or questions that arise from either homeowner, construction site or customer service and provide quick responses and effective solutions.

●  Attend Design Consultant team meetings, Divisional Quarterly Meetings and Homeowner Orientations when necessary

●  Responsible for hiring, training and developing design consultants

●  Communicate regularly with sub-contractors or vendor partners, purchasing, and production departments to ensure proper expectations are set at design appointments

●  Responsible to maintain current product line up

 

Job Requirements

The Person

We are looking for a candidate with the following:

Education:

  • University degree in Interior Design and/or Architectural Technology
  • Preferred or equivalent experience

Experience / Skills:

  • Selling Skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Strong communication skill – verbal and written – in particular good listening skills
  • Superior customer service (CS) background with prior experience in a CS role
  • Ability to multi-task with flexibility in work style
  • Experience and understanding in reading blue prints
  • Computer literacy with experience in MS Office applications and CAD preferred
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and independently
  • Work flexible hours
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proven leader
