Full Job Description
The Dysautonomia Project, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization in Clearwater, seeks to fill its position of Development and Events Associate. As a leader of dysautonomia education, TDP is looking for a dynamic, mission-driven professional with a passion for the mission and for helping others who is detail oriented and highly professional with excellent administrative and communication skills. This position would report directly to the Director of Development but would also work closely with the board, volunteers and donors as necessary.
This is a full-time, exempt, Monday – Friday 8am-5pm position that requires flexibility to work longer hours, evenings, and weekends as necessary. Position is in the office but has flexibility for remote work in the future. Benefits include a Simple IRA retirement match, Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays, and Tuition Reimbursement. Salary range $50K-$60K depending on skill set and experience; an additional stipend will be offered in lieu of health insurance.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Serving as the primary administrative support to the Director of Development and Board.
- Handling of all general calls and emails to TDP, delegating to appropriate staff and board as necessary.
- Coordinating and preparing invites, logistics, materials, minute taking and follow up for all Executive Committee, Board and Committee Meetings.
- Managing of donor database including the recording of all gifts and pledges, creating reports, mailing lists and acknowledgment letters based on donor criteria.
- Serving as primary administrative support of TDPs annual and semi-annual fund raisers overseeing all aspects of event planning and execution.
- Managing of annual book promotions, processing of all book orders and management of inventory.
- Managing annual mailings and serving as primary contact with mail houses/printers.
- Serving as primary support for seminars and conferences including making travel arrangements, managing sponsorships and booth areas including setup/breakdown.
- Updating of website with minor edits to keep information current; facilitating major edits with marketing company.
- Serving as liaison to marketing, video and printing companies.
- Managing of all office supplies, marketing and collateral materials including storage unit.
- Attend AFP and MPI meetings as able.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 2+ years of related experience.
- Strong interest in the nonprofit environment; a passion for the cause and a desire to learn and educate others about dysautonomia.
- Ongoing empathy for those in the dysautonomia community, and the ability to compassionately spread awareness and education.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work well on a team.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines.
- Ability to think creatively and out-of-the-box.
- Ability to represent the organization in a professional and positive manner.
- Must be flexible, dependable, and honest. A high level of integrity and confidentiality is essential.
- Must have own reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to travel out of the local area as needed to attend conferences.
- Ability to work longer hours, evenings, and weekends as needed during event and conference season.
- Proficient with technology, including email and Microsoft Office. Database experience a plus.
- Willingness to abide by the state laws and obligations of a 501(c)(3) organization.
