Development Manager – Norstar Development USA (Tampa)

Established real estate developer seeks a Development Manager for its affordable housing team. This role is responsible for the full lifecycle of development projects, including due diligence, financial structuring, coordinating with design and construction teams, closing, project management, and management turnover. Looking for an experienced individual that is a self-starter and highly motivated. Experience in real estate development, affordable housing, construction or related fields. Finance and/or legal background is recommended.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and research supporting new affordable housing opportunities
• Completion and submission of financing applications for the following types of financing: LIHTC, tax-exempt bond financing, Federal Home Loan Bank AHP funds, local government contributions
• Assist with obtaining and reviewing due diligence items
• Interact with multiple third-party consultants and clients (attorneys, housing authorities & investors)
• Assist with all aspects of construction draw processing

Requirements:

• A bachelor’s degree
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in multifamily development, specific affordable housing experience is a plus
• The ideal candidate will be goal oriented and able to work with hard deadlines. A wide degree of creativity, critical thinking, and self-direction is expected
• This role will report to the Director of Development and will interact on a regular basis with company principals

Skills:

• Excellent professional writing and oral communication skills
• Familiar with construction finance, construction budgets and proformas, surveys, zoning regulations, title policies, and insurance
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Dropbox, and Microsoft Outlook email system
• Excellent organizational skills
