This position will serve as a key leader on Masonite’s Global Business Services (GBS) team with direct responsibility for Masonite’s North American Accounts Receivable (~$250MM) and Global Credit department. In addition, this role has a fiduciary responsibility for the global receivable (~$300M) and indirect responsibility for the policy-setting, guidance and reporting for all of Masonite’s global receivables.
Accountable for developing and executing strategies that optimize cash flow and mitigate the risk associated with a complex and diverse receivables ledger. This will be accomplished through impactful analysis, effective prioritization of collection activities, close collaboration or negotiations with internal and external stakeholder groups (e.g. business unit sales, operational and commercial leadership), and effective credit/risk assessments.
Design meaningful data insights that highlight the root causes of matters causing delinquencies, non-value-added cost, and credit risk. Leverage formal cadences and relevant reporting to influence a continuous improvement culture informed by Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that are published monthly, quarterly or annually as relevant.
The position will evaluate processes (upstream and downstream), technology, and strategic business partnerships that can improve the effectiveness and efficiency. Will have 3 direct reports and 20+ dedicated outsourced team members, with responsibility for both, insourced and outsourced relationships located within and outside the U.S.
- Strategically execute the credit and collections process to ensure efforts are focused on optimizing cash flow and mitigation of risk.
- Foster strong relationships with Sales, Customer Service, and Operations to resolve delinquencies, customer service issues and address credit risk.
- Develop meaningful analysis that highlights performance including cash flow opportunities, risk, non-value-added operating cost, and internal operational issues.
- Drive operational efficiency and effectiveness for the GBS service model through process transformation that includes standardization, leveraging industry best practices, and evaluating relevant technologies and business partners.
- Development and stewardship of GBS performance measures, both quantitative and qualitative, that facilitate effective meeting cadences and engagement with customers and stakeholders of GBS.
- Strong business acumen with ability to identify relationships between operational and financial results. Leverage insights to influence business decisions.
- Ability to work directly with all levels of management including members of the Masonite Leadership Team (MLT), Finance Leadership Team (FLT) and business segment leadership.
- Lead the combined team of Masonite and third party service provider associates to effectively manage a complex and diverse customer portfolio.
- Provide stewardship of the Order to Cash process to positively influence transactional defects, process compliance, and collaboration.
Qualifications
- B.S. Business Administration, Finance or Accounting
- CPA, MBA or other advanced degree preferred
- 15 years of progressive experience preferably in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment;
- 7+ year in a leadership role
- Strong negotiation skills and demonstrated ability to effectively use data and analytics to influence results.
- Demonstrated experience with business process transformation such as system conversion or holding leadership roles in identifying and deploying innovation/technology
- 5+ years leading reporting, analysis and/or data insights
- Prior global business services/shared services experience highly desirable including global process ownership.
- Certified Credit Executive (not required but considered desirable)
