Summary:

Champions for Children is seeking a creative marketing professional with 7+ years progressive experience to lead the implementation of our recently completed, first-ever multi-year marketing strategy! In this role, you will be primarily responsible for the brand and front-facing image of our organization, with significant autonomy and decision-making ability. You will oversee our organic and paid social media strategy, e-mail communications, website, and a growing focus on press and earned media. Additionally, you will strengthen our brand visibility by representing Champions at community events and securing opportunities to promote the agency through strategic partnerships. This role will work closely with program and administrative leadership and will report to the Chief Executive Officer. This is the perfect opportunity for a mid-career marketing generalist with a passion for nonprofit marketing and the confidence to steward our brand through the next “level” of its evolution.

Classification: Full-time exempt. Salary range: 65,000.00 to 70,000.00 depending on experience

Responsibilities:

  • Act as CFC’s Brand Manager and hold primary responsibility for managing and growing our brand, including ensuring brand consistency, updating elements of the brand as needed, and identifying and securing opportunities to promote the brand.
  • Take the lead on setting and implementing CFC’s strategies for our organic and paid social media, e-mail communications, website, blog, and other digital presence.
  • Work closely with program staff to identify compelling participant stories, program updates, facts, and other “source material” to tell the story of our agency for each of our key audiences.
  • Serve as the overall “project manager” for implementing Champions’ multi-year marketing strategic plan that was recently approved by our Board of Directors, carrying out some elements yourself and playing a support role in others.
  • Seek out and nurture relationships with members of the press, and regularly pitch stories based on alignment with Champions’ key messages as well as individual contacts’ “beats.”
  • Network within the marketing, public relations, and communications community to develop strategic relationships that will enhance marketing efforts and stay cognizant of current trends.
  • Maintain and apply knowledge of current trends in marketing and communications strategies in order to continually strengthen CFC’s brand position.
  • Prepare Marketing & Communications Reports as needed.
  • Represent the agency, as needed, at community events.
  • Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to assistance with special events and fundraising activities.

Qualilfications:

  • Expertly strikes the delicate balance between professional and emotionally persuasive writing.
  • Has a passion for storytelling in a variety of media.
  • Wants to grow into a supervisory role (this role may begin without a direct report, with the objective to gain one).
  • Works collaboratively with all constituent groups, including staff, board members, volunteers, donors, vendors, and others.
  • Experience managing individual contributor team members and an interest in people management
  • Is extremely organized and comfortable self-managing your calendar of tasks and deadlines.
  • Enjoys thinking analytically about the successes or failures of past strategies in order to inform future approaches.
  • Holds a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Marketing, Communication, Writing or related field.
  • Has 5-7 years progressive experience in marketing roles, preferably in a nonprofit and/or mission-driven environment

General Requirements:

  • Ability to walk, stand, climb stairs, kneel, bend, reach, and manipulate objects; move materials up to 10 pounds on a regular basis; infrequently require moving materials weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Flexible to work some nights and week-ends as needed.
  • Must be sensitive to the socioeconomically and culturally diverse population Champions for Children serves.
  • Valid Florida driver’s license with good driving record, active auto insurance and reliable vehicle.
  • Must complete a Florida level 2 background check and pre-employment drug screen.
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect of clients.
