POSITION SUMMARY

The individual in this position will support administrative efforts necessary to support the dean’s initial community engagement efforts (e.g., simply following up on conversations, continuing the developing subsequent of ideas, administering implementation of new ideas, etc.). Ultimately, as community-engaged relationships are enhanced, these efforts will create additional opportunities for additional community-engaged research opportunities and grants, expand curricular and instructional 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Serves as the Dean’s liaison; interacts with leadership groups, educational, business, and community leaders and organizations to establish and strengthen collaboration with the COEDU.

Assists the Dean in the development, planning, and implementation of the Dean’s initiatives and activities including the Dean’s annual community engagement goals, communications and marketing plan, and community relation activities; Develops community relations and engagement strategies for targeted and emerging audiences of the college; Develops and manages articulation agreements that detail commitments, expectations, and responsibilities within partnerships; Identify and/or strengthen proactive community relations strategies.

Develops and facilitates a variety of communication and professional learning relationships within and across the college/universities and community stakeholders; Develops, maintains, and supports a messaging process designed to enhance the COEDU’s reputation, builds trust, strengthen community relations, provides proactive information and engages stakeholders; Provides support to the Dean with special projects for areas including student success, diversity, communications, community relations and civility, and other areas as needed for the COEDU as assigned by the Dean.

Directs the preparation, presentation, and maintenance of a variety of narrative and statistical reports, records and files related to assigned activities; Maintains knowledge of federal and state laws, state administrative regulations, and COEDU policies and administrative procedures impacting community relations including developments and trends in K-20 education related areas; Plans, develops and implements programs and services appropriate to the scope and nature of the position.

Directs activities relating to the Dean’s/College’s Dean’s Circle Advocacy Group including outreach, meetings, and advisory subgroups.  Attends and conducts a variety of meetings as assigned; participate on assigned committee.

Performs other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM

Requires a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum of seven years related exempt experience, including five years of managerial experience. Experience leading a team, project, program or function.

PREFERRED

Doctoral degree in education administration, leadership, policy or related field Demonstrated ability to promote and engage community relations strategies and tactics with Florida Suncoast school districts and other learning organizations, non-profits, and/or governmental agencies Five years administrative and/or supervisory experience related to educational program and policy development.
