Responsibilities: The primary role of the Director of Occupier Research is to ensure that the research department is strategically aligned with the objectives of the occupier initiative within CBRE. He/she will develop research products which drive CBRE’s Occupier business’ growth, client satisfaction, and brand enhancement objectives by providing dynamic, relevant and timely insights into occupier trends that enable our clients to make better real estate decisions. He/she is responsible for proactively connecting with the service lines to lead discussions and generate ideas for the constant improvement of research-related client facing materials focusing on the occupier perspective. He/she should seek opportunities to participate in client meetings, be visible to the real estate community, seek external speaking opportunities as well as promote the CBRE occupier research products to the media. He/she will be responsible for spearheading the production of occupier market analysis and timely white papers addressing market trends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop market trends and indicators for Occupiers
- Interact with various business occupier and consulting leaders within CBRE and the industry
- Analyze market trends and incorporate findings into occupier presentations and white papers
- Constant improvement of research’s client facing materials in partnership with Marketing
- Evaluate processes and tools for developing advanced information and analytics approaches as a key driver of differentiation
- Work with the business to develop Occupier benchmarks; efficiencies, square feet per employee, etc.
- Evaluate opportunities to extract customer relevant insights from existing data
- Other duties may be assigned
Qualifications:
- Strong leadership skills and a positive work attitude
- Solid understanding of the commercial real estate business
- Established expertise in the commercial real estate market
- Prior experience in a Research related function is preferable
- Occupier related experience and a thorough understanding of the particular needs and concerns of occupier clients
- Knowledge of data management and analytics processes
- Excellent decision-making skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Dynamic presentation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong ability to work well under pressure, with multiple/competing deadlines, on various projects
- Effective working in a team environment and as an individual
- Proficient in use of windows applications such as Word, Excel, and Power Point
- A real estate background is required
- An undergraduate degree is required – preferably in business, finance, economics, real estate, or urban planning
- A post graduate degree would be preferred
