Job Description Summary:The Director of Purchasing is responsible for all purchasing procedures, functions and duties concerning purchasing and receiving. This position is directly responsible for supporting two distinctive operations, including ordering and receiving supplies, immediately storing and issuing these products, implementation and maintenance of all internal control and audit policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A college degree is preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft applications and other database systems.
- Detail oriented, communication and multi-tasking skills.
- Supervisory, management experience.
- At least 5 years in related Purchasing position at hotel or conference center.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Coordinate and expedite all general purchasing orders except for sales and promotional materials, and engineering materials and products for the facility.
- Responsible for the specification verification, previous consumption distribution of purchase orders, the upkeep of vendor files, the follow-up and tracing of outstanding orders.
- Act as the liaison between Benchmark Equipment Company and the property.
- Oversee the daily operations of the Purchasing Department through inspections, timely and careful review of all paperwork, employee supervision and training.
- Must be able to consistently move heavy boxes weighing up to and more than 75 pounds.
- Knowledge of Broadliners/ Seafoods and Produce Familiarity.
- Works closely with Executive Chef and Food and Beverage Director
- Knowledge of Beer, Liquor and Wine
- Ability to build and maintain vendor relationships.
- Understanding of purchasing and receiving standards, Ecosure, HACCP documentation.
- Food and beverage inventory system knowledge.
- Familiarity with 3rd Party purchasing systems.
- Understanding a GPO.
- Understanding Budgets and Budget Controls.
- ServeSafe Certified.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
- Respond to any reason request made by the Director of Finance, Director of F&B or General Manger.
ENVIRONMENT: Office environment with good lighting and ventilation.
