The Director of Real-Estate and Facilities osition is primarily responsible for identifying entrepreneurial opportunities to locate, broker and secure affordable housing that is fiscally rewarding for all constituents (the people in the community and the UACDC organization). This position is also responsible for overseeing daily operations of the company, developing short- and long-term goals with the CEO, reporting to the board of directors and working with the internal operations of the business. This position is responsible for designing, managing and implementing all associated programs/policies to maximize operations utilization efficiency and housing returns on initial investments. Expertise required in developing all phases of housing and providing support to ensure that professional services are provided in an effective manner. This position requires a good understanding of UACDC policies and organizational procedures with the ability to work with others in a service oriented environment by performing the following duties personally or though subordinates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Manages a small staff of direct reports to assist with the various program implementation and administration. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Urban Planning or related area and at least 10 years in real-estate, housing, operations and/or community development with 6 years in non-profit. A Masters in Business Administration and/or Public Administration is an added plus. Knowledge of Federal, State and Local affordable housing programs. Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write contracts, speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Bi-lingual is an added plus. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to work with mathematical concepts. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
