The City of Miami is presently seeking a highly qualified professional to fill its executive position of Director of Real Estate and Asset Management. The incumbent manages the City of Miami leases, both in a landlord and/or tenant capacity. Directs the activities of, and plans improvements as well as public partnerships for city-owned properties. Coordinates with other departments to develop strategic plans and Public Private Partnership opportunities for city owned properties that will maximize benefits to the residents of Miami, maximize city revenues, and help foster job-creation and positive economic impacts within the community. Responsible for administration, management and operational aspects of the Department of Real Estate and Asset Management which includes the management of the City’s real property inventory and the following facilities, but not limited to: Marlin’s Stadium Parking Garage Retail, James L. Knight International Center (Miami Convention Center), Miami Stadium, Marine Stadium Marina, Dinner Key Marina, Miamarina at Bayside and the Manuel Artime Center. Directs and coordinates the negotiation of contractual services and oversees operations through subordinate staff; administers and promulgates municipal policies and regulations pertaining to the acquisition, development, management and disposition of City owned property; directs efforts to maximize the revenue potential and community use of municipally owned assets; oversees and/or negotiates property leases, management agreements, Revocable Permits, and Easements; oversees and/or negotiates the sale and acquisition of real property; management agreements and revocable permits and the maintenance of all property files and inventory; facilitates short and long range planning for the department; coordinates with external and internal agencies as it pertains to deed and funding related restrictions as well as all permitting aspects;develops the Department’s budget including capital improvements budget; oversees preparation and administration of grants; prepares activity and/or other reports as required.
