Vanguard Emergency Management seeks independent contractors to work as Disaster Housing Inspectors to support FEMA’s Housing Inspections Services (HIS) Program. As a Disaster Housing Inspector with Vanguard EM, you may deploy to federally declared disaster locations nationwide to perform damage assessments on affected homes.

Requirements: As an independent contractor for Vanguard Emergency Management you must:

  • Be a U.S. Citizen
  • Pass an “e-Qip” Moderate Background Investigation (MBI) Public Trust background investigation
  • Be flexible and have the ability to deploy

Professions: Vanguard EM does not have required professions for experience. However, many individuals are successful in this role with prior experience and/or knowledge in the following areas, but not limited to: Real estate sales and appraisal, insurance adjusters, construction workers, home inspectors and military retirees. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of disaster recovery efforts and assist those who have been affected by declared disasters. Training is provided.
