RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client seeking a Document Specialist in Saint Petersburg, Florida (FL).

Job Summary:
The role of the Mortgage Document Specialist II is to scrape mortgage loan origination and servicing documents in preparation for a Diligence review. Scraping in this context can be defined as the process of extracting data from specified pdf files and inputting it into the internal system for easy retrieval and review. Mortgage Document Specialists also perform a review of loan origination and servicing documentation. Utilizing their mortgage industry expertise, the Mortgage Document Specialist may be assigned to assist different departments depending on work flow needs. The Mortgage Document Specialist may also be assigned to other special projects depending on their skills and background. This position reports to the Diligence Project Manager.

Job Duties: The Mortgage Document Specialist II may perform any of the various job duties listed below, depending on experience and work flow needs:

  • Attention to detail in the review and data entry of information from mortgage loan origination and servicing documents
  • Utilize a database queue and daily production reports to independently organize, track and prioritize assigned work ensuring workflow standards are met within acceptable timelines
  • Perform related duties as assigned as well as QC review of others work to ensure department standards of quality are met following defined procedures
  • Make some independent task level decisions after research and within delegated authority levels
  • Assist with special projects, mentoring and training to promote optimal productivity and quality within the team
  • Must read, be familiar, and be compliant with Company Information Security Manual, as well as additional e-mails, policies, procedures and directives that comprise the overall Information Security policies as they are distributed

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associates or 2-year college degree in a related field required; In some cases, substantial, relevant experience may be substituted for this qualification
  • 2 or more years of direct experience in Processing/Underwriting, Post-Closing Review, or Loan Servicing required
  • Mortgage related document knowledge required
  • Attention to detail in the indexing, review and data entry of information from documents
  • Communication: Ability to compose professional correspondence independently for internal or external clients
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office including the basic functionality of Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Confidentiality: Exercises good judgement with access to confidential borrower data (SSN)
  • Independent Contributor: Ability to use time management skills and independent judgment
  • Relationships: Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude; Ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team
