Position Description:

A Dynamics NAV Senior Implementation Consultant will be focused on the delivery and implementation of Microsoft’s Dynamics NAV solution.  The Senior Consultant should have deep functional skills in Dynamics NAV that will be used in performing these tasks.  Consultants will also play a project management role for smaller clients and projects.  A Dynamics NAV Senior Implementation Consultant will be part of one or multiple teams that will use problem-solving skills to develop and implement Dynamics NAV for clients. Each Consultant will be placed on a project team that will be defined and organized according to the skills and experience required for the implementation. The consultant will be familiar with software implementation methodologies.

A Dynamics NAV Senior Implementation Consultant will spend a majority of their time executing tasks related to client delivery.  Most of this client time will be focused on detailed project tasks and assisting clients with incorporating and/or changing their business processes to support the tools being implemented.  A small portion of client time will be spent on project management tasks.

Consulting work will be primarily performed at our client sites. Some amount of overnight travel (approximately 70-100%) is inherent in any consulting business and will be required of our Team Members. Client locations may also be spread out over a geographic area and will require additional daily driving time for team members to reach their work site. Company will reimburse for mileage and out of town travel expenses incurred while working on client sites according to the company’s stated policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent best practices for their area of expertise
  • Install and configure Dynamics NAV
  • Perform business requirements analysis and design
  • Perform gap analysis between Dynamics NAV functionality and client’s requirements
  • Lead project teams through design workshops and CRP environments
  • Identify and recommend product customizations, enhancements or work-arounds to meet client requirements
  • Able to author all standard documentation as well as specifications for both functional and technical requirements
  • Train users on new business processes and using Dynamics NAV
  • Develop data conversion and testing strategies
  • Perform Dynamics NAV demonstrations  as needed
  • Develop and manage project budget and scope for smaller projects

Education, Certifications and Experience:

  • 4-year degree in business, Accounting, MIS or equivalent; CPA a Plus
  • 3+ years experience functional experience in implementing Dynamics NAV required
  • Experience with NAV 2009 preferred, 5.x required
  • Functional knowledge of the finance, distribution, and production granules; Other module knowledge such as CRM, Projects, MRP, Shop Floor is a plus
  • Dynamics NAV Financials or Distribution certification preferred
  • Experience with core business processes such as accounting, distribution and manufacturing
  • Experience implementing other Dynamics solutions (AX, SL, GP) a plus
  • Large consulting organization experience preferred
  • Experience with integration tools and 3rd party add on modules a plus
  • NAV development skills a plus
  • 2 plus years of project management experience managing teams of 3 to 10 people preferred
  • Prior experience develop functional and technical specifications for Dynamics NAV enhancements and integrations preferred
