The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are offering full-time, paid internships to highly motivated and committed graduates wishing to build upon their college education with practical professional experience in the fast-paced, results-driven world of the National Football League.

Participants are given the unique opportunity to contribute to the organization’s success while receiving an unparalleled, behind-the-scenes learning experience. The program is comprised of a comprehensive and flexible strategy that allows recent graduates to build upon their educational foundation in order to define, evaluate and achieve a variety of career-related objectives.

Interns are placed within a specific department and encouraged to explore all aspects of the business of professional football through various outreach programs, networking events, and via our Internship Learning Series. Interns will learn from and establish relationships with team executives that will benefit their lives both personally and professionally.

This is an hourly position starting July 14, 2025, through June 26, 2026. Interns are expected to commit to the full term of the internship.

Core Functions

  • The Communications Intern will assist the department in serving as a liaison between local, national and international media and members of the organization
  • Support game and practice credentials coordination and distribution
  • Assist with the creation and distribution of team publications and media information materials such as the team yearbook, media guide, game release, flip card and player bios
  • Record and transcribe player and coach media availabilities multiple times a week
  • Compile daily media clips and broadcast news reports to be distributed to executives within the organization generate media recaps for community impact, marketing and corporate partnership events and promotions
  • Draft press releases and media advisories
  • Assist in coordinating media interviews for players and coaching staff upon request
  • Game day responsibilities include: assisting in setting up the press box for all home games, transcribing post-game locker room quotes and overseeing media will call distribution

Skills & Abilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign preferred
  • Experience with Accredit Solutions credential system preferred
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
  • Experience in working with/writing around statistics is a plus
  • Strong professional demeanor
  • Available to work a minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Must be able to provide your own housing and transportation in the Tampa Bay area

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s or graduate degree
  • Prior experience with sports information, public relations or communications on the team side is preferred

Work Environment

  • The Buccaneers are a professional, fast-paced, creative business environment.
  • Extended evening and weekend work hours are sometimes required. You are required to work all home and some away games (some travel is expected). You may have to work occasional holidays.
  • High-intensity work environment in executing deliverables on short deadlines.
  • Computer and desk work a significant part of daily activities.
