Job Description:
The Entertainment Coordinator & Stage Manager will be responsible for coordinating and managing all Community Stage Acts and events during the 12 days of the 2020 Florida State Fair. They will primarily oversee all aspects of the Entertainment Hall and stage events, as well as coordinate with other Community Stage Leadership.
This is a seasonal position and qualified candidates will need to be available to begin around the end of January and work through February 17, 2020. The 2020 Florida State Fair dates are February 6-17.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Providing management of all community stage events and entertainment.
- Attends pre-event meetings and scheduling of all entertainment/events to be hosted on the Community Stage.
- Ensure the stage schedule is adhered to and all entertainment/events start and end on time.
- Work with entertainment leadership/contact personnel to provide all necessary needs for their time slot in regards to sound, lighting, staging, dressing rooms, etc.
- Oversee backstage areas to ensure the safety of the entertainers and all Community Stage & Fair personnel.
- Coordinate all sound and lighting needs with the front of house technician providing scheduled times for call.
- Ability to work early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays and on-call.

Required Experience:
EDUCATION: Associates Degree. Bachelor’s preferred with concentration in public relations, business administration, recreation, mass communication, entertainment, event & hospitality management or a related field.
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a meeting, planning or related field with increasing responsibility in the entertainment field, preferably public assembly, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
SKILLS:
- Excellent communication skills
- Considerable knowledge of methods and techniques utilized in events coordination; public assembly facility operation and maintenance.
- Familiar with sound, lighting and staging is a plus.
- Working knowledge of standard office operating practices and procedures and communication techniques and practices.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, event promoters and the general public.
- Ability to gage crowd control issues and quickly react with intent of safest outcome.
- Positive attitude, confidence, high standards of execution, outstanding problem solving skills with a sense of urgency regarding problem resolution and flexibility.
- Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); knowledge of products such as Paylocity and Ungerboeck a plus.
- Extensive math skills (calculate figures/discounts, proportions, area, etc.)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Duties are performed primarily in an entertainment venue environment. Operates computer and standard office equipment, such as telephone and copier/printer. Must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear and occasionally lift or move (more than 20 lbs.). Environmental elements include some exposure to wetness or humidity, work near mechanical parts, work in high places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, extreme temperatures, and risk of electrical shock
