SUMMARY
The work involves seasonal work in parks, performing arts center, facility operations, and/or special events. Position will report to a Special Events Coordinator, Manager/Supervisor, Operations Manager, Horticulture Coordinator, Foreman or Department Director.
ASSIGNMENT: Weekly schedule is determined on an ‘as needed’ basis and can range from no hours to up to 22 hours.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs set up and break down of special events: including setting up, breaking down and moving chairs, tents, tables removing waste and other related tasks
- May open, close, secure a park/facility and ensure all rules and regulations of the park/facility are enforced.
- Assists rental groups and vendors in setting up and maintaining required equipment.
- May be directed to complete daily safety inspections of facility and parkland to ensure safety and aesthetic standards are met.
- Assists with maintenance of equipment and facility as directed.
- Administers first aid and ensures participant safety.
- Assists with facility and park special events or rentals.
- For Central Park Performing Arts Center
- Assists event supervisor in providing catering, hospitality, and event facilitation
- Performs related work as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED
- One year experience in leisure services, retail, hotel/restaurant, box office, or closely related field is preferred
- Customer Service skills required
Depending upon assignment location (Largo Central Park, Central Park Performing Arts Center, Highland, Southwest or Community Recreation Center), some position may require:
- Valid Florida Drivers License
- Credit Check (if position requires cash handling and/or handling charge card transactions)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work Environment:
90% outside which may include driving and 10% inside a climate controlled building.
(Occasionally will facilitate events at the Central Park Performing Arts Center – 80% inside a climate controller building. 20% outside which may include driving.)
Depending on assignment, work environments may vary significantly.
Physical Requirements: The essential functions of the job require standing approximately eight (8) hours per day, and walking approximately four (4) hours per day. The work often requires bending/stooping, climbing, crawling, fine manipulations, grasping, kneeling, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, lifting/carrying objects weighing up to and over 45 pounds.
Sensory Requirements: Hearing: Enough to understand what others are saying in normal conversation in person and on the telephone. Speaking: Enough to communicate orally with others in person and on the telephone. Seeing: Enough to see and read computer monitor screens, and supervise events.
Driving Requirements: The work requires infrequent driving and possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License.
Office Machines: The work requires the ability to operate the following office machines: multi-line telephone, fax, photocopier, laminators, park radio, computers, utility vehicles.
