Job Description
The Event Coordinator assists with event production at Tropicana Field and Al Lang Stadium and interacts with promoters, event staff, and supporting departments involved in the event. The Even Coordinator takes the lead on non-baseball events, including planning, executing and managing administrative post-event tasks. The Event Coordinator also assists with stadium operations and baseball related duties and is also assigned daily administrative duties that include software management systems. 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and execution of events at Tropicana Field and Al Lang related to sports and non-sports events.
  • Liaison with event promoters to plan, execute and manage special events including shows, concerts and dinners among many events.
  • Communicates with conversion and grounds crews, maintenance, security, medical, police, fire, parking, catering, cleaning, and event staff to ensure the quality, safety, and efficiency of the event. 
  • Responds to inquiries for non-baseball events and stadium rentals.
  • Participates in planning and execution of emergency management and crisis response training.
  • Tasked on occasion with special projects that support Stadium Operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.  

Management and Supervision

  • The Event Coordinator may supervise Stadium Operations interns and works closely with the interns daily. 
  • The Event Coordinator may direct event staff during conversion and hospitality staff during Tropicana Field and Al Lang Stadium events.  


Qualifications and Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sport Management or Business is desired.
  • In lieu of a bachelor’s degree five years of event production experience at a large sports or entertainment facility will be considered.
  • Strong interpersonal communications skills.
  • Must be organized and work according to timelines.
  • Experience in event planning and organization.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and TEAMS
