Company Overview: Salem Communications Corporation is a leading broadcaster of religious programming and informative news talk. The company owns and operates commercial radio stations in major markets throughout the United States. Salem Communications Tampa-Sarasota owns five radio stations in the area including Talk Radio 860 AM WGUL, Faith Talk 570 & 910 AM WTBN, Radio Luz 760 AM WLCC, and News Talk 930 WLSS Sarasota. Salem Communications Tampa & Sarasota locations is looking to hire several paid, part-time Event Promotions team members. The position is a hands-on event marketing position for an individual that can professionally represent any of our Salem Radio stations at public events in an outgoing, well-spoken and friendly manner.
Job Description & Responsibilities: The Event Promotions Assistant reports to and works directly with the Promotions Director of the radio stations. Responsibilities include working at various station events and live radio broadcasts. ob responsibilities include: set-up and tear-down of station booth/table at public events including live radio broadcasts, interacting with listeners and communication with on-air personalities at events, maintaining care for promotional items nd equipment, taking pictures of promotional table/broadcasting set up and audience interaction at events with camera provided, responsible for driving station vehicles and communicating post event feedback to promotions director. Flexibility to work on special projects as assigned including light phone duties.
Job Requirements: The ideal candidate must be dependable, display a positive attitude, maintain a clean and well-groomed appearance, possess excellent communication skills and be a team player, detail-oriented, and should have a passion for marketing, promotions and/or radio. Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record and must be at least 18 years old. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds including set up of heavy equipment like tents and radio broadcasting gear. Candidates must commit to a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekend and holidays. It is helpful, but not required, if the candidate has a working knowledge of social media and Microsoft Office software. It is helpful but not required if the candidate is fluent in English and Spanish.
Education Requirements: Ideal candidate should be a high school graduate; prefer 2 years of college/university education or equivalent work experience.
