Under the leadership of the Director of Events, the Events Manager assists in organizing and coordinating all Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce events

Responsibilities:

 Assists Director of Events in planning and logistics for all on-site and off-site membership events including data base management, registration, invoicing, serving as sponsor liaison, table assignments and nametags/attendee lists

 Serves as event lead and oversees all event management for New Member Orientation, Get Connected, Business After Hours, Pearls of Wisdom, Competitive Edge Series, Public Policy Roundtables, Military Events, Women’s Series Luncheon and additional events as assigned

 Provides service to general membership as it relates to event registration, database passwords and access, member benefit questions and payments

 Creates, oversees and manages event budgets for all assigned events

 Maintains event calendar on website as well as events listed on the home page of www. tampachamber.com

 Serves as the staff manager to the Women of Influence Committee, Sporting Clays Committee and Golf Tournament Committee and others assigned

 Assists Director of Events on the day of event in set-up, preparation, hosting registration table and troubleshooting

 Works cooperatively and positively with all Chamber staff members and volunteers to promote an environment of excellence

 Documents all work processes and procedures thoroughly and accurately

 Other tasks as requested

 

Specifications:

Bachelor’s Degree required

 Demonstrated experience in event planning, with a minimum of 2 years of experience required

Experience in website content management and database preferred

 Excellent verbal, written and negotiation skills

 Excellent customer service skills

 Able to perform multiple job functions and tasks with a minimum of daily supervision

 Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office software, specifically data merges

 Able to learn and effectively and efficiently use Chamber management and database software

 Must conduct yourself in a professional manner

 Flexible scheduling required – including early mornings and evenings during the week

 Pre-employment drug screening and background check required

Relationships/Accountabilities

Accountable to Director of Events to assist with event planning and logistics

 Works cooperatively and positively with all Chamber staff members and volunteers to promote an environment of excellence.

 Exhibits a total commitment to maintaining high quality service standards of the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce; demonstrates service excellence skills in dealing proactively with members, visitors, colleagues, and all Chamber contacts.
