Director of Maintenance will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of a facility’s maintenance operations, including planning, scheduling, and managing repairs, ensuring the efficient and safe functioning of the physical infrastructure by supervising maintenance staff, managing budgets, and identifying potential issues to prevent future breakdowns.

Key responsibilities of a Maintenance Director:

  • Strategic Planning:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance plans, including maintenance schedules
  • Budget Management:
  • Create and monitor maintenance budgets, including cost analysis of repairs, parts, and services
  • Staff Supervision:
  • Lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians, assigning tasks, evaluating performance, and providing training
  • Facility Inspections:
  • Regularly inspect building systems to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Emergency Response:
  • Oversee emergency maintenance procedures, coordinating responses to unexpected breakdowns or repairs
  • Vendor Management:
  • Source and manage external contractors for specialized maintenance needs, negotiating contracts and ensuring quality work
  • Compliance Oversight:
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant maintenance standards, building codes, and safety regulations
  • Data Analysis:
  • Monitor maintenance performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions
  • Reporting:
  • Provide regular updates to management on maintenance activities, budget status, and key performance indicators
