Responsible for the overall physical environment of CASA facilities and properties. This includes environment health and safety, compliance and standards, security, maintenance testing and inspection, occupant services, utility management, building supplies and deliveries. Responsible for department personnel management, fiscal/budgeting, data collection and performance metrics

  • Oversee the operation of facilities, equipment and grounds to assure compliance with all applicable fire, health, safety protocols and ADA standards. To include compliance with OSHA guidelines.
  • Provides supervision to Maintenance and Janitorial staff to include interviewing, selection, training, performance evaluations, developing goals and procedures to ensure achievement of same.
  • In conjunction with Finance Department, responsible for budget and financial monitoring of facility projects
  • Ensures the repairs to interior/exterior of facilities by employing basic skills in plumbing, carpentry, electrical, mechanical and related fields. Maintain exteriors of building and grounds surrounding building.
  • Ensures the maintenance of the interior/exterior of Company vehicles to include a regularly scheduled maintenance program and work with outside vendors when needed.
  • Supervise vendors/staff to ensure repairs are completed in a timely manner.
  • In conjunction with management, oversee the selection, installation, maintenance, of building systems to include communication systems, waste removal systems, service equipment.
  • Oversees new construction on existing and future properties.
  • Develop and manage routine systems and inspections to ensure a preventative maintenance program and to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal laws codes and ordinances.
  • Participate with the management team to maintain and execute the Disaster Plan and Safety Plans for the facilities.
  • Oversees the safety programs for the facilities to include regular drills.
  • Conduct inventory for food items, paper supplies, cleaning products, office supplies and kennel supplies and place orders for delivery.
  • Supervise and coordinate volunteer projects pertaining to the facilities.
  • Coordinate with Finance Department the purchase of general maintenance supplies and contracted services as needed in accordance with CASA’s bidding process and purchasing policies.
  • Supervise vendors during routine contract maintenance or repairs as needed.
  • Assist with organizing and maintaining a current list of all vendors, service and product warranties and service contracts.
  • Obtains competitive bids for needed equipment and repairs in accordance with policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and relevant work experience equivalent to the requirements of this position.
  • A minimum of five years’ supervisory experience as a manager in a multi-facility environment.
  • Possess supervisory/leadership skills, good verbal and written communication skills and problem solving skills.
  • Possess a working knowledge and experience in proper general maintenance and skills in plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, structural systems, HVAC systems, and electronic systems.
  • Knowledge of safety, environmental, energy, ADA, and federal and state regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrate the willingness to work a flexible schedule and be reachable by phone, on-call day and/or night and weekends in the event of an emergency situation.
  • Possess the ability to lift at least 75-100 lbs.
  • Possess a valid Florida driver’s license to be verified annually.
  • Possess a good driving record, meeting the requirements of CASA insurer.
  • Possess the ability to function independently and work cooperatively as a member of a team.
