JOB SUMMARY
Tampa Bay Sports & Entertainment (TBSE) is in Tampa, Florida and operates the NHL’s Tampa Bay Lightning, Amalie Arena, the University of South Florida Yuengling Center, Tampa Bay Sports and The Identity Tampa Bay. We also operate and support additional off-site facilities including the Brandon Practice Facility, The HUB (Community Hockey) and off-site storage. This position will be responsible for providing Facilities Management Services to a new business in downtown Tampa, Embarc Collective, a new innovative hub in our neighborhood.

The Facilities Services Manager is responsible for leading the overall delivery of managed services to the client, Embarc Collective. Responsibilities include leading the day-to-day facility operations of +/- 32,000 square foot innovation hub including responsibility for the building maintenance, project planning and execution, contract management, permits and licensing, budget management and utilities. The position is also responsible for overall management of safety and security, reception/guest services, shipping and receiving, housekeeping services, event and space conversions. The position must strive for the highest level of professionalism, while meeting the client’s needs, and a commitment to achieving a goal of 100% uptime throughout the facilities team. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Indirectly hire and lead part-time staff and manage their workflow, inspire and motivate staff to deliver world-class plus service to the guests/clients/members in a professional manner
  • Responsible for ongoing coaching and career development of staff
  • Provides Department Managers employee feedback and participates in coaching performance and disciplining employees as appropriate
  • Responsible for providing timely performance feedback to Department Managers to assist with the Quarterly Snapshot process or Reviews
  • Partners with People Operations in talent acquisition and retention programs for the department

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversight of workflow of staff, ensuring successful delivery of service and task execution through onsite supervision
  • Support start-up and opening of facility and operation
  • Anticipate and Interpret clients’ needs and schedule support staff and vendors to meet those needs
  • Ensures compliance to documented plans and provide direction and changes where needed.
  • Manages building control system and all components associated with the climate control system, including programming, monitoring and scheduling system for the most economical and sustainable level of operation.
  • Maintains facility-wide preventative maintenance program, and consistently looks to improve maintenance plans
  • Assists VP Facilities Operations/AGM with coordinating and organizing all building renovations, repairs and improvements
  • Develops and implements regular safety meetings, assure department compliance with OSHA, and actively participate in facility safety drills and planning.
  • Ensures staff have required tools, parts, and resources to perform their jobs effectively and safely
  • Develops techniques for work method simplification, improving working conditions, reducing costs, and staying informed on industry best practices
  • Develop and implement safety and security plans to create safe and comfortable work environment
  • Interpret technical information and drawings
  • Negotiate service agreements with outside vendors
  • Assure all permits and licenses are acquired and in good standing
  • Assist with establishing facilities budgets and monitor for variances
  • Proactively predict unplanned challenges or needs and communicate to client
  • Respond to emergencies and outages in a timely manner
  • Knows and ensures all laws, codes, ordinances, policies, procedures, Risk Management, safety

precautions, rules/regulations and emergency procedures are followed and administers emergency preparedness for the department

  • Optimizes relationships with third-party partners to ensure consistency of service and related expenses
  • This position requires physical activity including standing, walking, climbing and ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Uphold and enforce company policy and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS Degree in Business or related field preferred
  • A minimum of three plus (3+) years’ experience in Facilities Management
  • Certification as a RPA, FMA or CFM preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of local, state and federal codes and regulations
  • Leads with a high level of integrity and is a positive influence for the team
  • Proven leadership and supervisory experience managing, coaching, discipline and hiring staff required
  • Experience in managing a workforce, creating schedules, managing hours and overtime, assigning tasks, and mobilizing a workforce required
  • Solid and effective interpersonal and work leadership skills with a strong emphasis on workplace safety; ability to build strong and collaborative relationships with staff
  • Demonstrated organizational and project management skills to support high quality standards while maintaining meticulous building conditions
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills, including active listening, flexibility, critical thinking, and the ability to multi-task and ensure effective time management
  • Highly developed judgment and problem recognition/avoidance/resolution skills
  • Solid decision making and reasoning skills, and ability to develop original ideas to solve problems and conduct operations analysis and quality control analysis
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment and as part of a ONE TEAM focus
  • General knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Power Point) required
  • Knowledgeable with Johnson Controls Metasys building management system preferred
  • Ability to work long hours, including days, nights, weekends and holidays
